love is a word

It can mean a lot of different things. Some people tell you that they love you all the time when they barely know you, while others almost never say anything about love at all even though you’re a big part of their heart. People are strange sometimes.

Love is an emotion

Love can be many different things in your heart, depending on where you are as a spiritual entity.  Love can be a soothing song that inspires you to greatness, or it can be an angry, hurtful demon that steals your peace and leaves you to rot in a box on the side of the road.

Are you in love?

Sometimes you meet a person, and it feels like your heart has been yanked out of your chest.  It’s almost as if your breath was stolen away.  It’s like being on a roller coaster as you go over a big peak and plummet down.  I used to enjoy falling in love, but anymore lately, love is almost a cuss word to me.  Being in love is nice when you’re young, but when you get to be older, love isn’t always a fun thing to enjoy.

Why don’t you love me?

Loving someone means that you care about them, usually, unless it’s some kind of emotional addiction trip.  There are plenty of people who think love is the roller coaster ride, but it’s not.  The roller coaster ride is just some chemicals that your body produces.  Love, in my way of thinking, is something deeper.  True love is stronger then emotions.

Lust and love are different things

Learning to differentiate is called maturity.  As you live and grow as a person, it becomes more and more obvious.  Sometimes you’ll be in a relationship and at first it feels like love, then it starts to feel like an emotional leech has attached itself to your soul and is just draining away that warmth and sense of self that you work so hard to maintain.

Pulling away from that kind of hurtful love can be painful, but it’s like ripping off a band-aid.  If you just yank it off, you’ll be better off in the long-run.  It hurts for a little while.  It really helps if you have friends to hang out with.  Go do something.  Go hang out in public somewhere.  Get a cup of coffee and read a book or something.  Distract yourself and it will go away.

Then when you find another connection, you’ll know better what to watch out for.  You’ll have a better idea of what good love is and what immature love is.  Mature love always gives more then it receives.  When you have good love, things are always getting better.  When your love isn’t meant to be, the universe will show you.  Just relax and keep living your life.

How much love do you need?

That’s kind of a trick question.  Love is something that you can never really get when you really need it.  The more you need it, the more difficult it is to find.  Only when you are able to transcend your need for love will you be able to really get any good love.  You may have just transcended your need for love.  It’s really that crazy sometimes.

It’s kind of like credit.  When you don’t have resources and you really need credit, no one will give you any.  Once you have a good job and you’ve got your finances nailed down, everyone and their brother wants to send you a credit card application or get you to purchase a new car.  Love is the same way.

what is love?

love is love
really
it can be so many different things

love can be
  • work
  • peace
  • anger
  • weakness
  • selfish
  • caring
  • less
  • flight
  • wealth
  • sharing
  • childhood
  • a mystery
  • longing

It’s just never the same. it keeps moving and flying and changing like some magical kaleidoscope of insanity, or a mystical calliope of comfort and depression. The tune plays for one and then for another. The magical creatures go round and round, and up and down.

And we all pay our token, or remain content to watch from the sidelines, because we don’t want to be the kid who ate too many deep fried twinkies and blew chunks all over the magical, mystical sidewalk of love.
